Align your Body, Mind and Creative Goals!
Sun, Feb. 26 – Pilot Class
10 AM – 12:30

This new innovative class was created especially for the Bova Actors Workshop and is facilitated by Michelle Glick.  This class is open to anyone interested in breaking through creative blocks through use of the body, the voice and “right” brain tools and exercises.  During the two and a half hour session, you’ll begin to cultivate a spiritual path to higher creativity, increase your health both physically and mentally, and create while create a systemic approach to achieving your creative goals.

The first part of class: YOGA

Yoga is a perfect compliment to any exercise regimen. Through strengthening the body and lengthening muscles in often unfamiliar ways, you will begin to “wake up” the mind and body. With focus on the breath and alignment, you’ll start to discover subtle nuances in your physicality and the quality of your mind. This slowly starts to change things outside the yoga class: how you react to others, your patience level, and your overall happiness. For creatives this means being more “in the moment” and more open….a must for invoking the creative juices!

The asana (yoga poses) part of class includes movement influenced by Om Yoga, with a sprinkling of the Anusara (heart-opening) and Iyengar (alignment focused yoga) traditions.

The second part of class:  The Artist’s Way

After about an hour of the physical practice, the body has less tension, the mind is clearer. From here, you’ll practice some of the exercises in The Artist’s Way - writing, drawing, dancing and sharing goals and dreams in a safe, supportive environment.  The spirit along with the principles taught in this class defy the voices of self doubt and allow your fears to take a back seat … while your optimist gets into the driver’s set to up the next stage of your life.

These “stand-alone” classes will touch on some of the principles that will be taught in a 12 week regimented class cycle offered in May. Take all 12 or drop in every now and then for a tune up.
